Video Sharing

The internet is filled with interesting information.  This information includes news from most of the major news services in the world, plus blogs with help, advice and opinions from ordinary people, and let’s not forget that it is also has the “World’s Biggest Collection Of Cat Videos”.

YouTube is the most famous of all the video sharing sites, and many of us have lost hours of time clicking through the videos uploaded, but there are many others that you may want to try for both uploading and watching.
Vimeo.com is one of the fastest growing services at the moment and specialises in the more professional looking videos, although anyone can upload to them.
If you are a music lover or an artist, then head over to Vevo.com, where artists can promote themselves and you can find music to your liking.  Many of the music videos are a high enough quality that they still look good when played through your TV.
Veoh.com is an internet TV service that includes studio content, but you can still upload your own videos.  Their services include an extensive community if you like to discuss and share videos that you find.
A site with over 40 million unique views every month is Metacafe.com.  Unlike YouTube, Metacafe uses a system to screen out duplicate videos to avoid anyone re-uploading your video as their own.  Another incentive is that if your video gets over 20,000 views, then they start paying you at the rate of $5 for every 1000 views.  A good reason to upload your funny videos there.
If you’re looking for a good laugh then Break.com is probably the best site for you.  They specialise in funny videos and movie clips.  The video size is limited so you know everything will be fairly short.  They also let you create photo albums that are shared along with the videos.
So if you want an alternative to TV then try some of these video-sharing services.
